Description
Vera Andrus was born in Wisconsin and trained in Minnesota, where she learned lithography. In 1934 she won a scholarship to the Art Students League in New York; there she studied with George Grosz and Eugene Fisch. Andrus, like many of her peers, was employed by the Works Progress Administration, which encouraged the inexpensive distribution of artists’ lithographs.
